I attended Dallas Baptist University. I got a Bachelors of Arts in History and Biblical Studies. I became a stay at home mom after Sawyer was born! I was a middle school teacher, and had every intention of going back after maternity leave, but God had other plans. He made it very clear that the money wasn't an issue, it was trusting Him. I had to let go of a lot of pride, what I'd worked for, the job I'd gotten, the things I'd accomplished to become a stay at home mom. It's been very humbling to be at home. I love it, but it's hard. I try to read a lot, like Francine Rivers, Liane Moriarty, and other fiction books to keep my mind from turning to baby mush. I also listen to tons of podcasts that keep my brain occupied during all the diaper changes and playing with blocks.
I grew up in the dfw area with my 2 sisters, brother, mom and dad. My brother and sister are twins, which has always made me want twins. Sooo I'm praying for that one day! I was a mess in middle school and high school. I'm sure most people are, but my mess was extremely apparent. Praise the Lord for the ministry of Young Life, and being invited to Crooked Creek Ranch the summer before senior year. I accepted Jesus as my savior, and my life is evidence of His power to change any heart.
I've always loved writing, and blogging seemed like a great way to use that. I'm also a little too open. Always have been, I don't really understand boundaries, and will tell anyone anything. So sharing our entire life on social media has come naturally to me. I started blogging a few years before we had Sawyer, but didn't really have a specific topic to talk about. My life had a lot of different things going on. Now that I'm a mom, it would be pretty impossible to focus on anything else. I love sharing our experiences because I know thousands of mamas are in the exact same spot.
If you're still here, thank you so much for reading! I am so thankful for all of my readers, followers, and the companies I work with. You all make it possible for me to stay home with our sweet baby!
