About Me

Hi y'all, this is my sweet little family! I love them more than anything, they are my people, and I am so blessed to have them. We live in Fort Worth Texas in a little house in a quiet neighborhood, on a cul-de-sac. We dream of having a few acres and a farm house one day, but that's a ways down the road.

I attended Dallas Baptist University. I got a Bachelors of Arts in History and Biblical Studies. I became a stay at home mom after Sawyer was born! I was a middle school teacher, and had every intention of going back after maternity leave, but God had other plans. He made it very clear that the money wasn't an issue, it was trusting Him. I had to let go of a lot of pride, what I'd worked for, the job I'd gotten, the things I'd accomplished to become a stay at home mom. It's been very humbling to be at home. I love it, but it's hard. I try to read a lot, like Francine Rivers, Liane Moriarty, and other fiction books to keep my mind from turning to baby mush. I also listen to tons of podcasts that keep my brain occupied during all the diaper changes and playing with blocks.

I grew up in the dfw area with my 2 sisters, brother, mom and dad. My brother and sister are twins, which has always made me want twins. Sooo I'm praying for that one day! I was a mess in middle school and high school. I'm sure most people are, but my mess was extremely apparent. Praise the Lord for the ministry of Young Life, and being invited to Crooked Creek Ranch the summer before senior year. I accepted Jesus as my savior, and my life is evidence of His power to change any heart.

Daniel is my generous, loving, fun husband. He's a firefighter, but he's an even better husband and dad. He was seriously made to be a dad. Some people just become dads, but he was meant for it. We met volunteering for Young Life, and HATED each other at first. We couldn't stand one another. After summer break, we came back and clicked immediately. I knew within the first month of dating that I was going marry him. We dated a year, were engaged for six months, and got married on March 7th, 2015! We have had such a sweet marriage of fun vacations, amazing extended family, and now as parents. Being "mama and dada" together has shown us such a different side of each other that has deepened our relationship. It's so much more work, but it almost comes more naturally to us than it did before. The newly wed, no kids phase was fun and exciting, but we both knew what was to come would be even better.

I've always loved writing, and blogging seemed like a great way to use that. I'm also a little too open. Always have been, I don't really understand boundaries, and will tell anyone anything. So sharing our entire life on social media has come naturally to me. I started blogging a few years before we had Sawyer, but didn't really have a specific topic to talk about. My life had a lot of different things going on. Now that I'm a mom, it would be pretty impossible to focus on anything else. I love sharing our experiences because I know thousands of mamas are in the exact same spot.

If you're still here, thank you so much for reading! I am so thankful for all of my readers, followers, and the companies I work with. You all make it possible for me to stay home with our sweet baby!
