Friday Five // Baby's First Weeks

There are so many products that are SAVING me as a new mom, and others that are completely adorable. It's almost been three weeks with Sawyer, and I have quite a few favorite items!

I am obsessed with gowns! It's so much better than having to undo a onesie or take of leggings to change a diaper. Also, I don't have to worry about her feet getting cold because they're completely covered. Socks do not stay on newborns for longer than 10 seconds so keeping her toes warm is a constant struggle.

2. SwaddleMe Original Swaddle

Swaddling Sawyer is the only way to keep her asleep for hours at a time. Her startle reflex is strong, and so are her little arms. Regular blanket swaddles do not keep her arms in, and I am honestly just not great at swaddling. So far the only swaddles that keep her from breaking out are the SwaddleMe Original Swaddles. They have velcro that makes them really easy to put on, but the velcro is a little bit loud when I'm trying not to wake her in the middle of the night. I love these swaddles for the time being, but I think we will have to upgrade eventually.

3. Graco Pack n Play

While pregnant we spent so much time getting Sawyer's nursery ready, but have barely used it since she was born. Everything she needs is set up in our bedroom. The Graco pack n play has a changing table, storage, and a detachable bassinet/bouncer. This is seriously an all in one item that's so great for when baby is still in your room. Even if you are using a co-sleeper I feel like this is still really convenient for changing diapers, and an extra spot for nap time. We went with the Raleigh color because it's gray and matches our home. Sometimes baby stuff comes in terrible colors, but this one is so cute!

4. Shusher

Saying "shhhhh" over and over again is exhausting. We found that out week one. Daniel immediately went to Amazon and ordered the Shusher. Now we use it every night. It has a 15 minute or 30 minute timer on it so you don't have to get up and turn it off. It's the perfect amount of time to ensure that she's completely asleep. Do yourself a favor and order one now!!

5. Hatch Baby

This app is the modern mom's feeding/sleep/diaper tracker journal. You are able to track every aspect of your baby's day. We use it mostly for feeding and diaper changes, but you can even track naps. I love that I can track exactly how long I feed her for on each side. It ensures that she's getting enough to eat, and I can even see what times of the day she eats more or less. The best part is that it's compatible with Alexa! All you have to do is tell Alexa to start a feeding, or record a dirty diaper. Such a great app, and its FREE!

I absolutely love all of these products, and can't imagine our first few weeks without them! I can't wait to share some more favorites with y'all next Friday.

xoxo,
kelsey
