Sleep Tight // Ollie World

Sleep is so important to me. I've always been a in bed by 9, asleep as soon as I close my eyes, full 8-9 hours type of person. Then I got pregnant and sleep became a thing of the past. That was probably one of the biggest obstacles of being pregnant. I was so tired, but couldn't sleep because I had to pee, my belly got in the way, or just hormones kept my brain spinning all night! I heard that sleep would be even more rare once Sawyer arrived, but I couldn't imagine it getting any worse. Luckily, our sleep routine has saved us!

As a first time momma swaddling was a foreign concept to me. In the hospital I had to google "how to swaddle". I even took a screenshot of the instructions for reference! At night I would ask the nurse to swaddle her really well for me because anytime I did it her arms would pop right out.

Once we got home I knew that there would no longer be nurses to help me swaddle her nice and tight in a traditional swaddle, so we tried a few types of swaddles. They all seemed to make her sweaty, she still managed to get her arms out, or they weren't made for diaper changes.

Frustrated and exhausted, I went on the hunt for an amazing swaddle that was easy to use, and would keep her arms in all night long. Based on everything I read online, the Ollie World Swaddle was the best fit! Ollie World sent me the stone and lavender swaddles to try out. The color choices are simply perfect. I was so impressed by the packaging. The swaddles were folded perfectly inside of individual washable mesh bags. I love washable bags, I use them for anything that I really want to protect.

Sawyer was such a great sleeper the first week, but come to find out that's how all newborns are. So when she started getting really fussy, and having a hard time sleeping from 10-1 every night I knew we needed something new! Luckily that's right when our Ollie World swaddles arrived. The first night she wore it was perfect. She actually slept from 11-4:30! I usually fed her around 2:30, but we both slept right through my alarm. Who knew that a swaddle could make such an amazing difference.

I love how easy it is to put on, especially with how wiggly she is right now! All it takes is wrapping is folding it over her, and then folding the other side to connect the velcro. The bottom has an elastic band that closes it into a little bun making nighttime diaper changes easy. The fabric is perfect because it prevents her from getting too hot, but still keeps her warm and cozy.

Sawyer is a huge wiggler so she will probably be rolling over pretty early! I love that I will still be able to use the Ollie Swaddle as she gets bigger and needs to start transitioning out of it. Ollie suggests transitioning by first leaving one arm out, then both, then removing the swaddle all together.

I am so happy with my Ollie World swaddles, and really can't imagine having a newborn without them. The story behind this company is so beautiful that it makes me love their swaddles even more!

xoxo,
kelsey
