I absolutely love breastfeeding because all you need is your boobs! For real though, I can't imagine having to pack bottles, formula, and all that every time I go out. Then coming home and having tons of dishes to do all the time. Everyone says breastfeeding is hard, but I'd say formula has it's own set of challenges! All I have to worry about is bringing myself, to me that's super convenient.
Although no products are absolutely necessary, there are lots that will help make your life easier. I've used each of these products quite a bit, and swear by them! Some of them were gifted to me, while I purchased others on my own, but regardless I really love everything I mention.
Must Have Breastfeeding Products
Brestfriend Pillow: This is soooo helpful when you are first learning how to hold and position baby. It helped me to just focus on her latch without having to worry about holding her weight up.
Bamboobies Organic Nursing Balm: I started out using lanolin, and that was a big NOOO for me. Hated it and it didn't really seem to heal, but just to coat the problem. I switched to this nursing balm, and its been so great. I only use it about once a day, and it works wonders. I love bamboobies and all of their products.
NatureBond Milk Saver: I am completely obsessed with this! It's perfect to use on the other side while breastfeeding, and it just catches any leaking or an early letdown. Especially early on when you have an oversupply and your boobs are constantly leaking. I now keep this in my diaper bag so that I can use it in between feedings if I need to!
Nursing Sleep Bra: This bra is so great to sleep in and just wear around the house. You just have to slide one side over so it's even easier than the clips on other bras. It's only $10 for one or you can buy larger packs.
Nursing Bra 2 Pack: These are so cheap and comfy. I wear them all the time! $15 for TWO bras. You really can't beat that.
Supermama More Milk Tea: I was already a huge tea drinker so I was really excited for a tea that could boost my supply. It really does help. I've never had any supply issues, and I started drinking this week 1!
Bamboobies Nursing Tank: This is my go to tank for underneath tops, but also to just wear on its own. It's not too tight, and super breathable. You can wear it with or without a bra because it has the built in unpadded bra.
Upspring Sliming Nursing Tank: This tank top is perfect for immediately post baby. It is extremely thinning, and is supposed to work like a corset to help get your tummy back to normal. I really saw a difference from wearing it, but I don't wear it all the time because it is purposely very tight!
Upspring Alcohol Milkscreening Strips: These are wonderful to not have to pump and dump if possible! We went out for Cinco De Mayo, and I was positive that my milk would be bad after one margarita, but it wasn't! Yay for not having to waste breastmilk.
Bamboobies Reusable Nursing Pads: I ruined many outfits by not using nursing pads the first couple of weeks. Nothing is worse than a huge wet spot on your boob... very awkward for others. I love reusable nursing pads because I don't have to spend tons of money and they aren't as bulky as the disposable.
Simple Wishes Pumping Bra: I started pumping pretty early on to make sure I had milk for date nights, and just in case I needed it! At first I was just holding the pump the entire time, which was really obnoxious. With this bra I can get so much more done and pump both sides at once. It's easily adjustable, and I will be using it constantly when I go back to work.
Nursing Clothes: I love having a few nice nursing friendly tops for when I'll be out all day!
