Sawyer at 4 Months
Weight: 15 lbs 5 oz
Birth Weight: 7 lbs 7 oz
Length: 26 inches
Birth Length: 20 inches
7:30 pm- Asleep for the night :)
Sometimes she will wake up around 3-4 am because this is when babies transition into a really light phase of sleep. We let her fuss for 5-8 minutes, then turn up the volume on her sound machine for 2 minutes, then go in and put a hand on her chest to comfort for 2 minutes, then give her a paci if she still isn't back asleep! If she won't go back to sleep or stay asleep for thirty minutes then I usually feed her. She's still at the age where a night time feed may be necessary.
Changes and Developments
- Can play on her own forever!
- Has little conversations with mommy and daddy.
- Doesn't care about rolling over because she's fat and happy!
- So over bath time these days. (She's just too cool now that she's older) 🤣
- Taking lots of bottles now that mama is back at work.
- Loves to sit up in her chair.
- Wants to stand all the time.
- Puts everything in her mouth, but not signs of teething yet!
Adventures
Four months old! Her four month shots hit her hard, and dad said she was pretty grumpy the rest of the day. She's been to the doctor twice now when I freaked out about a little cough and a little reflux. 🤣 First time mom problems!
Sawyer enjoyed her first Fourth of July with her cousins and Chief and Gigi!! It was so fun, and I can't wait for every year at the lake house with family.
We took a little trip to Colorado Springs to enjoy the last of my summer vacation/maternity leave! I swear this girl was made to travel. She's always on her best behavior when we are out and about.

Sawyer's Schedule
At the beginning of this month I found Taking Cara Babies 3-4 Month Plan, so we started using that for a little bit of pre-sleep training! I say "pre" because she's still so young and not quite self soothing yet that we are taking it very slow and easy. I always thought I'd be a CIO mom, but after a lot of reading I realize that's not really effective until they're older and only if you do it consistently and until they fall asleep. So I've found a happy medium with a little crying, a little soothing, but all with the purpose of independent sleep for Sawyer!
This is the schedule we've stuck to since around 12 weeks, but it's still pretty flexible and varies by about 30 minutes everyday. The only times I try to keep pretty concrete are wake up and bedtime! Sawyer eats about 4oz 6x a day.

6-6:30 am- Wake up and Eat. I usually have her wait 10-15 minutes before I feed her unless she obviously super hungry!! The reason for this is so that she doesn't think that she can just scream and be fed immediately. Also, it encourages her to sleep in. I try to always wake her up before 7 if she's still sleeping to keep her day on track. :)
8 am- Nap 1 Usually this is her shortest awake time, and then she sleeps 45 minutes to an hour!
